Maree Sharp is the Nurse Integration Leader



Co-ordinate and integrate effective, efficient and appropriate primary health care nursing services that are based upon the Treaty partnerships, and that are relevant to the identified health needs of the community within a defined geographical area - this includes the primary nursing services that are part of the PHO and those that currently sit outside the PHO.

Lead change in management processes to ensure the contribution of primary health care nursing services is recognised and optimised

Support effective teamwork across the range of primary health care nurses and with other health professionals

Ensure clear and consistent outcomes are identified and evaluated - this includes outcomes relating to specific service improvement projects undertaken and outcomes that demonstrate progress towards integrated ways of working

Facilitate best professional practice leading the development of clinical practice guidelines

Promote safe, happy, positive and progressive workplaces conducive to good employer/employee relationships

Pursue training and education opportunities with recognition of mutual benefit to all parties




Ensuring greater understanding and respect for the diversity of primary health care nursing roles

Gradually changing the emphasis away from traditional roles to one that focuses on competencies and skills

Developing and supporting processes that encourage collaboration and closer working relationships - for example, providing opportunities for shared learning and peer review, support for the utilisation of consistent best practice frameworks to guide practice

 Involving nurses in the planning and delivery of outcomes focused nursing service improvements / projects where there are shared goals and objectives
